CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - The brawny, cowboy hat-sporting Mexican singer Mariano Barba dominated the 2007 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday. In an unusual turn, he took top song of the year _ a prize usually given to pop stars like Shakira.

'Monster Mash' singer Pickett dies at 69

NEW YORK (AP) - He does the "Monster Mash" no more. Bobby "Boris" Pickett, whose dead-on Boris Karloff impression propelled the Halloween anthem to the top of the charts in 1962, making him one of pop music's most enduring one-hit wonders, has died of leukemia. He was 69.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Phil Spector's attorneys told jurors Thursday that scientific evidence would prove the music producer did not fatally shoot an actress in his home, while his former girlfriend testified he terrorized her with a gun when they were dating.
