McCartney's new album deemed best in years

NEW YORK (AP) - It sounds cruel, but let's face it: Except for the occasional highlight like "Vanilla Sky" or "My Brave Face," for the past 20 years, Paul McCartney's catalogue has been pretty barren. So the former Beatle wanted to make his new solo album, "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard," stand out.
 
Singer David Gray simplifies his life

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - David Gray has two things in his life _ and only two. "It's whittled itself down now to music and family," the British singer-songwriter said in Sunday's editions of the San Francisco Chronicle. "I would say those are my two priorities and my two strengths. I'm not much of a friend and I'm utterly unreliable in most respects."
 
'Idol' winner Underwood does Gulf benefit
