Knoblauch to talk with House committee

WASHINGTON (AP) - Chuck Knoblauch is heading to Capitol Hill. Knoblauch, a four-time All-Star who played with Roger Clemens on the New York Yankees, agreed Monday to speak to a House committee investigating drug use in baseball after initially failing to respond to an invitation to testify.

Nolan Ryan noncommittal about Rangers

HOUSTON (AP) - Nolan Ryan could be a candidate to become president of the Texas Rangers. The Hall of Fame pitcher hasn't talked specifically with Rangers owner Tom Hicks about the possibility of taking the job, but their meeting last week did include discussion about whether such an opportunity would be attractive to Ryan, currently under contract with the Houston Astros.

Roger Clemens was accused by his former trainer in last month's Mitchell Report of using steroids and human growth hormone in 1998, 2000 and 2001, allegations the seven-time Cy Young Award winner vehemently denies.

Nats C Lo Duca has surgery on left knee

WASHINGTON (AP) - Nationals catcher Paul Lo Duca had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Monday and is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks. The operation was to repair a torn medial meniscus, and Lo Duca will begin a rehabilitation program later this week.
