Barrett's grand slam off Izzy propels Cubs

CHICAGO (AP) - Michael Barrett couldn't conceal his joy, or his pain and relief. Barrett hit a grand slam off Jason Isringhausen in the eighth inning, and the Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-4 Sunday night to complete a three-game sweep.

CINCINNATI (AP) - After losing their first six games of the season by a combined 10 runs, the Pittsburgh Pirates found out how to win a close game. Jack Wilson hit a two-run homer and the Pirates beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 Sunday to give Jim Tracy his first win as Pittsburgh's manager.
