TORONTO (AP) - Shea Hillenbrand came through again after the Toronto Blue Jays blew another late lead. Hillenbrand hit a go-ahead single in the eighth inning as a pinch hitter, and the Blue Jays overcame a tying, three-run homer by Jason Varitek to beat the Boston Red Sox 7-6 on Monday night.
 
Phils pour it on against Nats in 11-2 win

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Ryan Howard made up for an early mistake in a big way. After a throwing error cost Philadelphia a run early, Howard hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the sixth inning to help the Phillies beat the Washington Nationals 11-2 on Monday night.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - John Rheinecker got his first-game jitters out of the way in April. His second major league start went a lot smoother. Rheinecker allowed four hits in 8 1-3 innings and Mark Teixeira hit a two-run homer to lead the Texas Rangers to a 2-0 victory over Seattle on Monday night, the Mariners' fifth straight loss.

TORONTO (AP) - Red Sox left-hander David Wells will miss a turn in the rotation because of a sore right knee. Wells left his last start after taking a line drive off his knee. He'll miss his scheduled start on Wednesday. He experienced soreness while throwing on flat ground Monday.

ATLANTA (AP) - Los Angeles manager Grady Little said pulling Brad Penny out of the game in the fifth inning was the key to the Dodgers' win Monday. Tell that to Penny. After Penny was battered by six straight hits and four runs in the inning, the Dodgers pulled away late for a 12-5 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Ramon Martinez hit a three-run homer and finished with five RBIs for Los Angeles.
 
Thome and White Sox pummel Tribe 11-0
