KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Adam Wainwright fired up his computer Tuesday night and studied the no-hitter Detroit's Justin Verlander had thrown against Milwaukee. The St. Louis right-hander took a no-hitter of his own into the sixth Wednesday night, and shut out Kansas City on one hit through eight innings. The Cardinals held on for a 7-3 win.

Marshall, Cubs snap Mariners' win streak

CHICAGO (AP) - Sean Marshall's confidence never wavered during his long rehabilitation for an injured left shoulder. Now that he's healthy, Marshall is making teams pay. Marshall pitched eight strong innings, and the Chicago Cubs beat Seattle 3-2 on Wednesday night to snap the Mariners' season-high five-game win streak.

David Dellucci broke a tie with a three-run homer in a wild sixth inning, leading Cleveland to a testy 7-3 victory over the Marlins on Wednesday night. His shot capped a six-run inning by the Indians, who entered the frame scoreless in their past 26 innings away from home.
