SEATTLE (AP) - After hitting homer No. 718, Barry Bonds struck out looking against J.J. Putz to end the game and the Seattle Mariners defeated the San Francisco Giants 5-4 on Friday night.

The 41-year-old Giants superstar brokered a deal with 39-year-old teammate Moises Alou that had Bonds starting in the outfield Friday night against the Seattle Mariners. Bonds will be the designated hitter for the final two games of San Francisco's weekend series, his usual place in an AL park.
