Jones promptly gave up three runs, before getting Ronnie Belliard to ground out with runners on the corners to preserve a 9-8 victory over the Washington Nationals.
 
McCann's father knows best as Braves win

Maine keeps it simple as Mets top Twins

NEW YORK (AP) - John Maine knew the Minnesota Twins would be a tough assignment Monday night, especially with the New York Mets coming off a 2-7 road trip. So Maine did what any good pitcher does in that circumstance. He kept the Twins off balance with a sharp slider and got the jump on most of their batters. And when he was done, Minnesota had managed just four hits against him in 7 1-3 innings as the Mets beat Minnesota 8-1.
 
Lee returning to form as Indians win

CLEVELAND (AP) - Cliff Lee followed his return from the disabled list with a more important comeback. After a rough start to the season, the left-hander finally looks all right. Lee shut down the NL's highest-scoring team and Kelly Shoppach hit a three-run homer off Cole Hamels, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 10-1 rout of the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night.
 
Fielder hits 26th as Brewers beat Giants
