Rookie Andy Gonzalez went 4-for-5 and drove in two runs, and the White Sox showed signs of pulling out of an offensive funk with plenty of clutch hitting against Tampa Bay during a 5-4 victory that stopped a five-game losing streak on Monday night.

Green's walkoff homer in 11th lifts Mets

NEW YORK (AP) - Shawn Green and the New York Mets were more than glad to see the end of Mike Maroth. Bamboozled by Maroth's slow stuff, Green hit a leadoff home run in the 11th inning against Russ Springer to beat St. Louis 2-1 Monday night in the Cardinals' first visit to Shea Stadium since winning Game 7 of the NL championship series last October.

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Craig Biggio says he's more than ready to reach 3,000 hits. To do it in Milwaukee, he'll need to have a very productive game on Tuesday. The 41-year-old Biggio was not in the lineup on Monday night and was also scheduled to take Wednesday off in the Houston Astros' three-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers. He is four hits shy of becoming the 27th player with 3,000 or more.

McCann's bat helps Braves break through
