SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The Colorado Rockies cleared the field in the ninth inning of Friday night's game against the San Francisco Giants after fans threw garbage following the ejection of Barry Bonds.

Jorge Posada hit the ball so far that right fielder Nick Markakis took only one step before stopping to watch it soar over the 25-foot scoreboard. Ray asked for another baseball, but by then he was virtually assured another loss against the New York Yankees.

White Sox beat Blue Jays behind Garland

TORONTO (AP) - Ozzie Guillen didn't think his Chicago White Sox could rally against Toronto even with his top two sluggers back in the lineup. A.J. Pierzynski hit a three-run homer and Jon Garland outpitched Roy Halladay to win his eighth straight decision, leading the White Sox to a 6-4 victory over the slumping Blue Jays on Friday night.

Utley extends hit streak to 35 games

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Chase Utley of the Philadelphia Phillies singled in the first inning Thursday night, extending his hitting streak to 35 games. Utley lined a 2-2 pitch from Jason Marquis to center field and went to second when St. Louis center fielder So Taguchi bobbled the ball. Utley hit an RBI single off the first-base bag in the third to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead, and making him 6-for-11 against Marquis.
