PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Abraham Nunez has gone through enough hard times this season that he isn't going to take anything for granted now. Nunez homered and tied a career high with four RBIs to help the Philadelphia Phillies hold on for a 12-10 victory over the Washington Nationals on Sunday.

Vargas lifts Diamondbacks over Padres

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Clay Hensley came through for the San Diego Padres one day later than expected. Hensley, scratched from his scheduled start on Saturday with an injury, pitched four strong innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday after starter Chris Young left after one inning with a strained muscle in his upper back.
