Oct 24 2005 8:09PM (CT)
HOUSTON (AP) - Jermaine Dye did the smart thing: He kept quiet and went to first base. He knew all along the ball glanced off his bat _ but he wasn't about to tell the umpires. Foul ball or hit by pitch?

Game 2: How cold and wet was it in Chicago?
Oct 24 2005 5:37AM (CT)
CHICAGO (AP) - A puck might have been more appropriate. At least it would have been an excuse for the Houston Astros' ham-handed fielding in the second inning, when they misplayed three balls like goalies wearing catch gloves on the wrong hand, surrendered two runs and started slipping and sliding down the road to ruin and an 0-2 deficit in the World Series.
