HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) - Martin Truex overcame a series of setbacks Saturday to win his second straight NASCAR Busch Series season title, finishing seventh as Ryan Newman won the Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Right-handed reliever Terry Adams agreed Saturday to terms of a contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates on a minor-league contract would pay him $500,000 if he pitches in the majors next season.

Red Sox interview Wilder for GM job

BOSTON (AP) - David Wilder plucked Bobby Jenks off the waiver wire and rode the rookie closer to a World Series title. He'll need to do more of the same if he gets the job as Boston Red Sox general manager. Wilder, who has been the director of player development for the Chicago White Sox the past two seasons, interviewed with Red Sox executives on Saturday for the job that Theo Epstein walked away from on Halloween.
