Column: Grossman's split personality
Jan 14 2007 11:52PM (CT)
CHICAGO (AP) - After almost 500 throws during the regular season, half that many in practice each and every week, and three dozen more against the Seahawks late Sunday afternoon Bears quarterback Rex Grossman finally let one fly that kept a city from tossing him into the lake.

Brady rallies Pats into AFC title game
Jan 14 2007 11:41PM (CT)
SAN DIEGO (AP) - Tom Brady, as cool as ever, delivered every time the San Diego Chargers gave him another chance. Already a three-time Super Bowl winner, his shot at a fourth is very much alive after the New England Patriots shocked league MVP LaDainian Tomlinson and the Chargers on Sunday, winning 24-21 to advance to the AFC championship game.

Jan 14 2007 9:44PM (CT)

Another disappointing finish for Eagles
Jan 14 2007 5:57PM (CT)
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Their star quarterback went down in November. Their best pass rusher missed almost the whole season. Another top player sat out the most important game. Written off months ago, the Philadelphia Eagles overcame several obstacles and nearly reached their fifth NFC championship game in six years.

Ravens lament early exit from playoffs
Jan 14 2007 5:56PM (CT)
BALTIMORE (AP) - Not long from now, the Baltimore Ravens will reflect on the 2007 season and recognize they finished with the best record in franchise history. They will remember fielding the top-ranked defense in the NFL and bouncing back from a 6-10 season to earn the No. 2 seed in the AFC.

Who needs Mardi Gras? Saints march on
Jan 14 2007 8:01AM (CT)
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Who needs Mardi Gras when you're one game from the Super Bowl? Deuce McAllister and rookie sensation Reggie Bush gave this battered city a reason to throw itself a party, carrying the New Orleans Saints where they've never been before _ one game from the Super Bowl.

Column: Saints make New Orleans smile

Column: Manning pulls one out on bad day
Jan 14 2007 6:37AM (CT)
BALTIMORE. (AP) - Once again, Peyton Manning had a so-so playoff game. Less than so-so if you count the two interceptions the Baltimore Ravens should have had but dropped. Who cares? Certainly not Manning. He and the Indianapolis Colts are on the way to the AFC championship game after beating Baltimore 15-6 on Saturday in a game with no touchdowns.

BALTIMORE (AP) - Peyton Manning couldn't get Indianapolis into the end zone and, for once, it didn't matter. That's because Adam Vinatieri provided the Colts with all the offense they needed to advance to the AFC championship game.
