Dungy returning to Colts next season

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Tony Dungy is coming back for another season with the Super Bowl champs. Dungy made it clear Monday that he will return to the Indianapolis Colts sideline, quashing any talk that he might step down after becoming the first black coach to win a Super Bowl ring.

Ron Rivera moves on to help Chargers

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) - Chicago defensive coordinator Ron Rivera was out of a job, but not for long. Just hours after the Bears announced Monday he wouldn't be retained, the San Diego Chargers gave him a two-year contract to coach their linebackers.

SAN DIEGO (AP) - The San Diego Chargers certainly were aware that Norv Turner was 24 games under .500 and made only one playoff appearance in his nine seasons as an NFL head coach. It didn't scare them off in the slightest.

Bears hire Butkus' nephew as assistant

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) - The Chicago Bears hired Luke Butkus as their assistant offensive line coach Monday. He is the nephew of Dick Butkus, the former Hall of Fame middle linebacker with the team.
