LOS ANGELES (AP) - Commissioner Paul Tagliabue headed an NFL delegation that met with leaders of the Los Angeles business community Wednesday night, and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa expressed optimism about the return of a professional team to the area.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Ben Roethlisberger's broken jaw did not have to be wired shut, a factor that could hasten his recovery from his scary motorcycle accident, and the Steelers quarterback got out of his hospital bed Wednesday to talk with teammates and family members.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Tedy Bruschi charged at Tom Brady as the quarterback threw a pass Wednesday. Later, Bruschi chased running back Laurence Maroney when the Patriots' first-round draft pick ran a short pass route. The throw to the right side was long, but Bruschi gave the rookie a light shove in the back, anyway.
