Texans place Davis on injured reserve

HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Texans placed running back Domanick Davis on injured reserve Saturday, ending his 2006 season. Davis, Houston's top rusher for the last three seasons, has been out for a month with a bone bruise that is causing soreness in his knee.

Backup RB scores twice in 49ers' win

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Michael Robinson admits it wasn't easy giving up his dream of playing quarterback in the NFL. Maybe it helps that his transition to running back is going very smoothly. Robinson ran for two touchdowns in the second quarter to help the San Francisco 49ers end the preseason with a 23-14 victory Friday night over a San Diego Chargers team still searching for a backup quarterback.
