Patriots beat Bills in Bruschi's return

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Tedy Bruschi raised his arms early in the game and the fans cheered. Then another returning star won it for the Patriots with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. Corey Dillon, who struggled most of the season before missing his previous game with an ankle injury, came on to score on two 1-yard runs and New England came back for a 21-16 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Nick Saban brought another defensive masterpiece to Tiger Stadium, spoiling the New Orleans Saints' return to Louisiana. Gus Frerotte had a touchdown pass to Chris Chambers and the Dolphin defense recorded a safety in a 21-6 victory over New Orleans on Sunday. Miami allowed only two field goals and kept Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks off balance throughout in snapping a three-game losing streak.
 
Chargers frustrate Chiefs 28-20

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Drew Brees and Antonio Gates played pitch and catch against a hapless Kansas City defense, and even LaDainian Tomlinson got a piece of the action. Brees threw three touchdown passes to Gates and finished with 324 yards passing as the San Diego Chargers beat the Chiefs 28-20 on Sunday. Tomlinson, slowed again on the ground, threw his third TD pass of the season, a 17-yarder to Eric Parker.

Garcia's across-the-body pass was picked off by Charles Tillman and returned 22 yards for a touchdown with 8:43 left in overtime Sunday, lifting Chicago atop the NFC North with a 19-13 win over Detroit.

Facing the team that jump-started his career 13 years ago, Favre threw five interceptions and came up short on a game-ending drive Sunday, preserving the Cincinnati Bengals' 21-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
 
Texans eke out win over Browns, end skid

With rookie Marion Barber running for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries in his first start and new kicker Shaun Suisham making two short field goals, the Cowboys beat the Arizona Cardinals 34-13 on Sunday.

Stephen Davis ran for two touchdowns and Steve Smith terrorized Minnesota's defense for a franchise-record 201 yards and a score in Carolina's 38-13 win on Sunday.
