Garcia gets nod to replace McNabb

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jeff Garcia will replace Donovan McNabb as the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback Sunday against Indianapolis. Eagles coach Andy Reid said he thinks Garcia, signed last March, was simply the best person for the job.
 
Nalen, Olshansky fined for Sunday fracas

NEW YORK (AP) - Center Tom Nalen of the Denver Broncos has been fined $25,000 for a cut block on San Diego's Igor Olshansky in the final minute of the Chargers' 35-27 win last Sunday night. Olshansky, who threw a punch and was penalized and ejected from the game, was fined $10,000.
 
Favre not 'overly concerned' with injury

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Brett Favre isn't used to telling his team that he can't go back on the field. And 251 games into his consecutive starts streak, he doesn't plan to make it a habit. Favre said Wednesday he isn't "overly concerned" about not being able to make his next start after an elbow nerve injury kept him out of the second half of the Green Bay Packers' 35-0 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.
 
NFL suspends Bears' Manning for 1 game

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) - Chicago Bears defensive back Ricky Manning Jr. was suspended one game by the NFL on Wednesday for his role in a restaurant altercation and will not play this week at New England.
 
Bryant won't be suspended for DUI arrest

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Receiver Antonio Bryant won't be suspended by the San Francisco 49ers after his weekend arrest on charges on reckless and drunken driving. Although the NFL could issue disciplinary action against Bryant when his case is resolved, coach Mike Nolan said Wednesday he will allow Bryant to keep practicing and playing.
