Stern: NBA would like expanded drug tests

CHICAGO (AP) - The NBA and its players' union are discussing expanded testing for performance-enhancing drugs, and commissioner David Stern said Wednesday he is optimistic it will be part of the new labor agreement.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The San Antonio Spurs didn't let Game 2 come down to fourth-quarter shooting. The Spurs made nine of their first 10 shots Wednesday and then outscored Denver by 20 points in the second quarter en route to a 104-76 win that evened their first-round playoff series at one win each.

Iverson misses 17 of 24 in 76ers loss

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) - Allen Iverson looked at the big picture, perhaps because the one right in front of him isn't too pretty. Iverson missed 17 of 24 shots and the Philadelphia 76ers were unable to stop the Detroit Pistons from winning 99-84 on Tuesday and taking a 2-0 lead in their first-round series.
 
Grizzlies trying for comeback against Suns

PHOENIX (AP) - The Memphis Grizzlies want to get rough against the Phoenix Suns. There's one problem, though. "You have to catch up with them first," Memphis coach Mike Fratello said. The Grizzlies will give it another try Wednesday night in Game 2 of the best-of-seven first-round series. A loss would send the series to Memphis with the Suns up 2-0.
