SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Sheryl Swoopes scored 26 points to lead the Houston Comets to a 78-70 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Saturday night in the WNBA season-opener for both teams.

SEATTLE (AP) - Lisa Leslie, new running mate Chamique Holdsclaw and the Los Angeles Sparks put a damper on the Seattle Storm's championship celebration. Leslie scored 23 points and Holdsclaw added 16 points and 14 rebounds in her first game with Los Angeles, and the Sparks beat Seattle 68-50 on Saturday.
 
O'Neal practices with Heat before finals
