SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Nicole Powell had 19 points and eight rebounds, Kara Lawson scored 14 points and the Sacramento Monarchs beat the Los Angeles Sparks 88-85 Saturday night in their home opener.

Kerr confirms that he'll be GM of Suns

PHOENIX (AP) - Steve Kerr confirmed on Saturday that he has accepted the Phoenix Suns' general manager position. Kerr made the comment on TNT during the telecast of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals in Cleveland. Kerr has been an analyst on the network's NBA telecasts for four years.
