Sonics star takes batting practice

SEATTLE (AP) - One week after signing his big NBA contract, Ray Allen took some swings at a baseball. The Seattle SuperSonics star took batting practice with the Mariners on Friday, whiffing at several pitches before he picked a good one and hit it over the left field wall at Safeco Field. That turned out to be his final swing.
 
Bird leads Storm past Lynx 72-66
