Nuggets survive first game without Melo

DENVER (AP) - The Nuggets didn't need Carmelo Anthony early, but could've used him late. With their leading scorer starting a 15-game suspension, the Nuggets nearly blew a huge lead but held on to beat the Washington Wizards 117-108 win over the Wizards on Monday night.

Gay, Grizzlies snap 6-game losing skid

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Rudy Gay scored 17 points, including six in the second overtime, and the Memphis Grizzlies snapped a six-game losing streak with a 134-126 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics on Monday night.

Marbury, Knicks show right kind of fight

NEW YORK (AP) - The Knicks showed the right kind of fight this time. Down to eight players after four were suspended for their role in a brawl, New York erased a 16-point deficit Monday night and stunned the Utah Jazz 97-96 in overtime on Stephon Marbury's layup just before time expired.

Arenas torches Lakers for 60 points

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Gilbert Arenas got on quite a roll, putting up the most points in franchise history and more than anybody, except Wilt Chamberlain, has scored against the Lakers. In a Kobe-like performance, Arenas had 60 points and outscored Los Angeles' Bryant by 15 Sunday night in the Washington Wizards' 147-141 overtime victory.
