Arnott leads Predators over Blues 3-2

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Jason Arnott scored a power-play goal and assisted on another in the Nashville Predators' 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night. Nashville beat St. Louis for the 13th straight time, including fifth this season. The previous three games went into overtime and two were decided by shootouts.

Semin lifts Caps over Thrashers in OT

WASHINGTON (AP) - Opponents already know about Alexander Semin's sneaky quick wrist shot and wicked slap shot. Turns out his backhander isn't too bad, either. Semin scored his second goal of the game with 17.7 seconds remaining in overtime, lifting the Washington Capitals over the Atlanta Thrashers 3-2 on Saturday night.

Avalanche top Wild 2-1 in shootout

Sabres hang on for 4-3 win over Leafs

TORONTO (AP) - The Buffalo Sabres ended their rare losing skid and regained the top spot in the NHL. Daniel Briere, Ales Kotalik and Chris Drury had a goal and assist each, and Sabres held on for a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.

Hurricanes break out against Islanders

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - All the Carolina Hurricanes needed to break out of their scoring slump were a few power plays on home ice against the New York Islanders. Erik Cole scored two goals and Carolina scored twice on the power play in a 4-2 victory over the Islanders on Saturday night.

Rangers extend win streak to 4

MONTREAL (AP) - The New York Rangers were well aware of how many sick players the Montreal Canadiens had, and used that knowledge to their benefit. Matt Cullen scored his second goal of the game 13:55 into the third period and the Rangers extended their winning streak to four with a 4-3 victory over the flu-ridden Canadiens on Saturday.
