Blue Jackets end Wild's 5-game win streak

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Sergei Fedorov was rewarded for just throwing the puck toward the net. Minnesota defenseman Nick Schultz deflected a centering pass from Fedorov into his own net with 6:33 remaining Friday night to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 4-3 victory and end the Wild's franchise-best, five-game winning streak.

Ducks won't be 'Mighty' next season

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Come next fall, the Ducks won't be Mighty anymore. The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced they will officially change their name to the Anaheim Ducks at the start of the 2006-07 season. The NHL team also said it is evaluating possible changes to its logo and uniforms.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ethan Moreau had gone 18 games without a goal. Todd Harvey hadn't scored in his last 15. Raffi Torres and Radek Dvorak each had 10-game droughts. All four players ended their respective dry spells Thursday night and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-3 to complete a Southern California sweep.
 
Mighty Ducks defeat Sharks 2-0

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - For probably the first time since Joe Thornton joined the Sharks, their opponent's goalie got bored. And when San Jose finally woke up, Anaheim rookie Ilya Bryzgalov wasn't about to squander a chance for his first NHL shutout. Bryzgalov made 24 saves, while Andy McDonald and Joffrey Lupul scored in the Mighty Ducks' 2-0 victory Thursday night, preventing the surging Sharks from passing them in the Pacific Division standings.
