GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Wayne Gretzky's wife and about a half-dozen NHL players placed bets _ but not on hockey _ with a nationwide sports gambling ring financed by Phoenix Coyotes assistant coach Rick Tocchet, authorities said Tuesday.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Mike Morrison was just the man the Edmonton Oilers wanted in goal when the game went to a shootout. Morrison stopped all three shooters to improve to 5-0 in shootouts, and Fernando Pisani scored the winner and had a goal and an assist in regulation to lead Edmonton past the Anaheim Mighty Ducks 6-5 on Monday night.
 
Flames' Kiprusoff beats old team in Sharks

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Although the Calgary Flames hadn't won a regular-season game in San Jose in five years, their goalie knows all about winning at the Shark Tank _ in both clubs' uniforms. Miikka Kiprusoff made 28 saves against his former teammates, Robyn Regehr had a career-best three assists and the Flames snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over the slumping Sharks on Monday night.
 
Guerin ends slump, lifts Stars over Preds
