DETROIT (AP) - A quick early scoring burst by the Red Wings was too much for the Calgary Flames to handle. Detroit scored three first-period goals, chasing Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff, and beat Calgary 7-4 on Sunday. Henrik Zetterberg had two goals and two assists, while Joey MacDonald got his first career win in goal as the Red Wings outshot the Flames 50-20.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - John Tortorella and the Tampa Bay Lightning found a very unlikely hero in beating the New Jersey Devils _ Nick Tarnasky. Tarnasky had his first career game-winning goal and combined with Vincent Lecavalier to score in a 48-second span late in a three-goal second period in a 4-1 win on Sunday.
