PITTSBURGH (AP) - Petteri Nokelainen and Vladimir Sobotka scored less than two minutes apart during the first period and the Boston Bruins frustrated Pittsburgh with a smothering defense, then held on for a 2-1 victory despite allowing Evgeni Malkin's third-period goal Wednesday night.

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Alexei Kovalev's shot from the right circle 1:43 into overtime gave the Montreal Canadiens a 2-1 victory over Florida on Wednesday night, spoiling the Panthers' first game since forward Richard Zednik was seriously injured earlier this week.
