BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Whatever emotions Paul Stastny has about breaking one of his dad's records can wait. The rookie forward is determined to get the Colorado Avalanche back into playoff contention. Stastny did his part Wednesday night, setting up two goals to extend the Avalanche's win streak to five games with a 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Fellow rookie Wojtek Wolski sealed it by scoring the go-ahead goal 1:41 into the third period.
 
'Hitch' in Jackets' play leads to OT win

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - A year ago, Roberto Luongo couldn't have imagined any easy nights against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Luongo faced an average of 36 Lightning shots back when he was with the Florida Panthers and even saw 50 once. But on Tuesday night, Luongo made 16 saves and helped the Vancouver Canucks to a 5-1 victory.
 
Bulin Wall: Chicago goalie gets shutout

CHICAGO (AP) - It took nearly two seasons for Nikolai Khabibulin to post a shutout with the Chicago Blackhawks. Khabibulin stopped 26 shots in his 99th game in a Chicago uniform and Patrick Sharp scored two goals in a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night.
 
Mind over matter: Flames erase deficit

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Calgary Flames erased a two-goal deficit by ignoring it. Jarome Iginla had three assists, including Wayne Primeau's go-ahead score on a short-handed breakaway early in the third period, in a 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Evgeni Nabokov has been perfect for two games. His San Jose Sharks teammates have been nearly as good. Nabokov posted his second straight shutout, and Milan Michalek had a goal and an assist to lead the Sharks past the Minnesota Wild 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Crosby scored his third shootout goal in four games and Pittsburgh overcame a three-goal deficit for a 5-4 win against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.
