CHICAGO (AP) - Jonathan Cheechoo, Kyle McLaren and Patrick Marleau scored as the San Jose Sharks beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 on Friday night and tied a team record with their eighth straight victory.

(AP) - Patrik Elias scored 4:02 into overtime, lifting the New Jersey Devils into first place in the Eastern Conference with a 2-1 victory over the lowly Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night. Elias streaked down the right side on a 2-on-1 with Zach Parise and fired a shot through goalie Karri Ramo, who had kept the Lightning in the game throughout.
