TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The Tampa Bay Lightning are counting on Sean Burke to take them into the playoffs. The 17-year veteran essentially has taken over as the No. 1 goalie for the defending Stanley Cup champions, who got shootout goals from Vincent Lecavalier and Brad Richards to beat the Atlanta Thrashers 3-2 on Thursday night.

Rolston beats Roloson in shootout for Wild

Aebischer stars in net as Habs top Sens

OTTAWA (AP) - The Montreal Canadiens knew they caught the short-handed Ottawa Senators at just the right time. Chris Higgins scored the go-ahead goal and David Aebischer made 44 saves to help the Canadiens match their longest winning streak in more than 13 years with a 5-3 victory over Ottawa on Thursday night.

BOSTON (AP) - Brad Boyes has been one of the few bright spots in a season filled with disappointment for the Boston Bruins. Boyes came through again for the Bruins on Thursday night, scoring the only goal of the shootout to lift Boston to a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Flames top Coyotes, extend Northwest lead

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Dion Phaneuf has really hit the big time. Even Wayne Gretzky is impressed with Calgary's rookie defenseman. Phaneuf scored his 19th goal of the season and added an assist in the Flames' 5-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday night. Then drew praise from The Great One.
