U.S. soccer team practices in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - The U.S. soccer team had a new altitude and a new attitude Monday. A day after a 2-1 defeat in the smog at Mexico City's Estadio Azteca, 7,200 feet above sea level, the Americans practiced at the University of Alabama-Birmingham for Wednesday night's World Cup qualifier against Guatemala at Legion Field.

MEXICO CITY (AP) - For all the American talk about how this game was going to be different, the United States stumbled in Mexico once again. Jared Borgetti and Antonio Naelson scored in a four-minute span midway through the first half, and the Mexicans dominated the U.S. team 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier Sunday.
