'One More Year': Jarrett stars for USC

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Even before his uniform had come off, Dwayne Jarrett's teammates were lobbying him to wear it one more year. After the day he had in the Rose Bowl, it was easy to see why. Jarrett, the sensational Southern California junior, caught 11 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns to help the eighth-ranked Trojans finish their season with a statement Monday in a 32-18 romp over Michigan.

So when yet another beautiful California day turned to dusk on Monday, only one thing was really settled in the Granddaddy of them all. The computers were right after all. So when punter Ken DeBauche had a punt blocked in the second quarter of Wisconsin's 17-14 victory, the Badgers were in trouble _ until DeBauche picked up the loose ball, scrambled around and completed a pass.

On Monday, he displayed something that could make it even harder for opponents to guard him. Davidson hit two sky hooks _ the signature shot of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar decades ago _ during the key second-half run in No. 8 Alabama's 70-55 victory over Oklahoma on Monday.
 
Banged-up White rallies Mountaineers

With Paterno watching from the press box while recovering from a broken leg, Tony Hunt ran for 158 yards and Tony Davis returned a fumble 88 yards for a touchdown Monday, leading the Nittany Lions to a 20-10 victory over No. 17 Tennessee.

Hurricanes send Coker off with bowl win

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Larry Coker went out a winner, just as his players promised. Kirby Freeman threw for 272 yards and two long TDs, ran for another score, and Chavez Grant made a diving interception with 18 seconds left in the Hurricanes' 21-20 victory over Nevada in the MPC Computers Bowl on Sunday night, Coker's final game at Miami.
