STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Brooke Smith made her first six field-goal attempts on the way to a season-high 28 points, leading No. 10 Stanford to its 10th straight win with a 69-54 victory over South Carolina on Monday night.

Ginn injured after kickoff return for TD

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Ohio State's Ted Ginn Jr. returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown in the BCS national championship game against Florida on Monday night, but injured his left leg soon after and missed most of the game.

No. 2 Tar Heels run past Virginia 96-62

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina coach Sylvia Hatchell sent a message by going to her bench. After watching Virginia go on a run that trimmed the No. 2 Tar Heels' lead to a mere 18 points in the second half, Hatchell substituted five reserves. They restored order and the chastised starters returned to finish off the Cavaliers 96-62 on Monday night.

LSU's Russell set to announce intentions

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - JaMarcus Russell will announce Wednesday whether he is entering the NFL draft. LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette said Monday that university officials were helping Russell set up the announcement, but labeled as "premature" recent reports that the quarterback had already decided to turn pro.

Odom gets 2-year contract extension
