PARK HILLS, Mo. (AP) - Gene Bess failed to become the first collegiate basketball coach to reach 1,000 wins when his Three Rivers Community College team lost to Mineral Area College 91-77 Saturday night.
 
Memphis dumps Tulane for 13th straight win

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - No. 3 Memphis started fast, finished strong and never let up against Tulane. Rodney Carney scored 24 points and the Tigers beat the Green Wave 105-65 on Saturday night for their 13th straight victory.
 
Marquette rolls on, tops No. 9 Pittsburgh

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Steve Novak scored 27 points and hit five 3-poiners to lead Marquette to its second straight victory over a Top 25 team with an 84-82 upset of No. 9 Pittsburgh on Saturday night.
 
Oklahoma beats Texas A&M, clinches title

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Winning the Big 12 Conference was a big deal for No. 9 Oklahoma, even if its celebration was somewhat subdued. The Sooners clinched their first regular-season league title in four years, beating No. 21 Texas A&M 73-54 Saturday night for their 11th straight victory.
 
Smith hits game winner to lift DePaul

The nation's leading scorer had a career-high 44 points _ 37 in the second half _ to give the fifth-ranked Bulldogs a 79-70 victory Saturday over Loyola Marymount and a share of their sixth straight regular-season West Coast Conference title.
 
Michigan St. turns back Michigan at home

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State returned to its home court Saturday and got back in the Big Ten race. Shannon Brown scored 26 points to lead No. 16 Michigan State past Michigan, 90-71. The win _ coupled with an Iowa loss at Minnesota _ leaves the Spartans one game behind four other conference teams in the loss column.

Neal paces Oklahoma in win over Iowa State
