Vandy rounds out SEC semifinals field

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) - Christina Wirth led Vanderbilt with 19 points, and the Commodores completed the SEC tournament semifinal field by beating Florida 105-77 Friday night. The No. 13 Commodores will play No. 10 Georgia in Saturday night's second semifinal. The first will match No. 2 Tennessee against No. 11 LSU.
 
Southern Illinois beats Drake 71-59

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Rather than worry about the NCAA selection process, Southern Illinois is sticking to what it can control. Jamaal Tatum and Matt Shaw had 19 points apiece and the No. 11 Salukis won their 12th in a row, 71-59 over Drake in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament on Friday. That gives them another chance to build their resume.
 
No. 6 Terps move on to ACC semifinals

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Cross Georgia Tech off Maryland's revenge list. Next up for the Terrapins _ North Carolina. No. 6 Maryland made up for an infuriating loss to the unranked Yellow Jackets by routing them 75-59 Friday night to advance to the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.
 
Gearlds lifts Purdue into Big Ten semis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Katie Gearlds was too much for Wisconsin to handle _ again. The senior guard scored 26 points and No. 15 Purdue escaped with an 82-79 overtime win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals on Friday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina just might have regained its swagger, and all it took was a lot of Little and some Latta. Camille Little scored 20 points, Ivory Latta added 17 and the No. 4 Tar Heels began their push for a third straight Atlantic Coast Conference tournament title by routing Virginia Tech 90-60 in a quarterfinal Friday night.
