OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Bernice Mosby scored 12 points in 22 minutes as No. 18 Baylor won its Big 12 Conference women's tournament opener with a 71-54 victory over Kansas on Wednesday.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma had trouble against Texas' defense getting the ball inside to All-American center Courtney Paris. Once she did get involved, it was the Longhorns that started to struggle. Some hot outside shooting by the eleventh-ranked Sooners helped Paris break free to score 12 of her 17 points in the second half and lead Oklahoma to a 67-58 win over Texas in the Big 12 quarterfinals Wednesday night.
 
'Ugly' Texas A&M advances in Big 12

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Texas A&M coach Gary Blair understands that some basketball fans think the Aggies' style of basketball is ugly. As long as they keep winning, he has no plans to change it. Top-seeded Texas A&M rode its best defensive outing of the season against a Big 12 opponent to a 62-45 win over Colorado in the conference tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Demetris Nichols scored 28 points, hitting seven 3-pointers, and Eric Devendorf added 19 points to help fifth-seeded Syracuse beat the Huskies 78-65 on Wednesday in the opening round at Madison Square Garden.
