ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Despite gains, black players at the 65 schools selected for the NCAA men's basketball tournament field continue to lag behind white players in graduation rates, according to a study released late Sunday.

Led by No. 1-seeded Duke, the top five teams in the 16-team NCAA regional captured either the regular-season title or the conference tournament in their respective leagues (the Blue Devils, of course, did both in the Atlantic Coast Conference).

DALLAS (AP) - The Kansas Jayhawks have only lost once in the last two months. Now that they've avenged that and won the Big 12 tournament, the KU kids are heading into the NCAA tournament believing they can do pretty much anything.
 
Iowa wins Big Ten title, beating Ohio St.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Iowa's Jeff Horner was tired of coming up short, so he did something about it. The Hawkeyes lost in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals last season, then finished second in the regular season race this year. On Sunday, Horner finally came out on top. The senior guard scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half and added 10 assists as No. 20 Iowa beat No. 7 Ohio State 67-60 in the Big Ten tournament championship game.
 
Northwestern St. wins Southland tournament

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) - Clifton Lee had 22 points to lead Northwestern State to a 95-87 victory in the finals of the Southland Conference tournament on Sunday, and a berth in the NCAA tournament.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Mike Krzyzewski sat at the podium with four of his seniors, basking in the glow of another Atlantic Coast Conference tournament championship. This was Duke's seventh title in eight years and 16th overall, breaking a tie with North Carolina for the most in the 52-year history of the event. J.J. Redick, Shelden Williams, Sean Dockery and Lee Melchionni were part of the past three.
 
Florida nips S. Carolina for SEC title

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A very different Florida team brought the Gators a second straight Southeastern Conference tournament championship. Joakim Noah, one of Florida's three new starters this season, scored with 11 seconds left, then blocked a shot at the other end and the 16th-ranked Gators held off South Carolina 49-47 Sunday in a sloppy championship game in which the Gamecocks nearly pulled off the improbable upset.
 
Hartford routs BU, wins automatic bid

After scoring 19 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, Sullinger high-stepped his way off the court playing air guitar for the Ohio State fans. The seventh-ranked Buckeyes can only hope the celebration didn't come one day early.
 
San Diego State wins MWC championship

UCLA wins first Pac-10 tourney since '87

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Three games of relentless defensive pressure culminated in UCLA's first Pac-10 tournament title since 1987. Jordan Farmar led four players in double figures with 19 points and the 13th-ranked Bruins beat California 71-52 Saturday.
 
Pacific clinches 3rd trip to NCAA tourney

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Christian Maraker had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Pacific clinched its third straight trip to the NCAA tournament with a 78-70 win over Long Beach State on Saturday night in the Big West Conference tournament championship game.

Nevada beats Utah St. in OT for WAC title

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada was the favorite in the Western Athletic Conference tournament and it didn't disappoint at home. Nick Fazekas had 23 points and 14 rebounds and Marcelus Kemp hit a key 3-pointer with 46 seconds left in overtime to help the No. 21 Wolf Pack beat Utah State 70-63 Saturday night in the WAC championship.
