SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - The almost daily phone calls haven't stopped this week even though Ben Howland and Jamie Dixon will be on opposite sides of the court Thursday night. It's hard to break a routine built through decades of friendship. The only change in the coaches' relationship is what they discuss.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) - Sitting in a small, crowded film room, the Marist women's basketball team watched in awe Wednesday when Tennessee star Candace Parker made a monster block. DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - After 32 years and 598 wins as a Division I head basketball coach, "Dr. Tom" has called it a career. Drake announced Wednesday that Tom Davis has retired, and introduced his son, 35-year-old Drake assistant Keno Davis, as the new head coach. Keno agreed to a five-year contract.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Kay Yow hugged her players as photographers took shot after shot. Then North Carolina State's coach turned to the fans, smiled and triumphantly extended both arms to hold up a Wolfpack hand gesture. The fans responded by giving her a standing ovation as she left the court. It was truly a moment to savor for the Hall of Fame coach and her fight-to-the-finish Wolfpack.
