SPRINGFIELD, MO. (AP) - Kari Koch had 23 points, Jenni Lingor added 20 and Southwest Missouri State rode a barrage of 3-pointers to the Women's NIT championship with a 78-70 victory Thursday night over West Virginia.

NEW YORK (AP) - Carlos Powell's final collegiate game went better than Pat Carroll's. Tarence Kinsey drilled a 3-pointer from the right elbow with 1.3 seconds remaining Thursday night to give Powell and South Carolina their first NIT championship, 60-57 over Saint Joseph's.
 
Lawsuit against Colorado dismissed

DENVER (AP) - A federal judge Thursday dismissed a lawsuit against the University of Colorado filed by two women whose allegations of sexual abuse sparked a scandal last year over its football team's recruiting practices.

Included in their ranks are at least two of the coaches here at the Final Four and, according to the latest survey, two-thirds of the basketball brethren. Never mind that we're coming off the most thrilling weekend in NCAA tournament history, and that 3-point shots, made and missed, were the reason for most of the chills.

Illinois bowling for national championship

ST. LOUIS (AP) - About a half-hour outside St. Louis, the Illinois team bus swung off the road and pulled into a bowling alley. For about an hour, the coaches and players indulged in one of their favorite pastimes, bowling a few games, eating pizza and chilling out _ the same thing they do many weekends back in Champaign. Then, after signing some autographs, it was back on the bus.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Rick Pitino and Roy Williams. Overachieving Michigan State and almost-undefeated Illinois. The Final Four teams will have to put on quite a show if they're going to match the excitement of possibly the best NCAA tournament ever. But these marquee coaches and programs haven't had trouble entertaining thus far this tournament.
