OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Josh Horton broke a tie with an RBI single in the 13th inning and North Carolina beat Cal State Fullerton 7-5 on Friday night in the second-longest game in College World Series history at 4 hours, 53 minutes.
 
USC's Jarrett violated NCAA rules

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Southern California's Dwayne Jarrett violated NCAA rules by not paying enough rent for the apartment he shared with Matt Leinart and was declared ineligible _ though the All-America receiver might not miss any playing time.

Ore. State returns to College World Series

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A few minutes after Oregon State was knocked out of last year's College World Series, reliever Kevin Gunderson made a guarantee that followed the Beavers everywhere they went.
