Raben powers Miami past Oregon State 11-1

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Miami got comfortable at the College World Series really quickly after a year's absence. Dennis Raben homered and drove in four runs and Scott Maine combined with two relievers for a six-hitter in Miami's 11-1 victory over Oregon State on Saturday night.
 
Rice loses no-hitter, beats Georgia 6-4

s OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Rice led by two runs and pitcher Eddie Degerman had a no-hitter going into the seventh inning against Georgia. But when the Owls came to bat in the bottom half, Degerman was out of the game and they found themselves down by two.
 
UCLA's Afflalo withdraws from NBA draft

North Carolina, Clemson prevail at CWS

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - North Carolina worked long and hard all night _ and perhaps got a little lucky in winning its first opener in five College World Series appearances. Clemson saved all its energy for one big inning, and thought luck had nothing to do with its fourth straight come-from-behind victory. It all made for a bizarre opening day at the CWS on Friday.
 
UNC tops CS-Fullerton in 5-hour marathon
