NEW YORK (AP) - Butler coach Todd Lickliter was hoping his team could withstand Tennessee's pressure defense and not turn over the basketball. The Bulldogs did just that and also held the No. 22 Vols to 25 percent shooting from the field in a 56-44 victory Wednesday night in the NIT Season Tip-Off semifinals.
 
No. 15 Arizona pounds Samford 86-57

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Marcus Williams scored 14 points in the first half, Chase Budinger added 12 in the opening 20 minutes and the 15th-ranked Arizona Wildcats went on to rout Samford 86-57 on Wednesday night.

PROVO, Utah (AP) - Shawnee Slade scored a career-high 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to help No. 22 Brigham Young beat Santa Clara 77-63 Wednesday. Slade, who had never scored more than 10 points in a game, had 13 in the second half and finished 11-for-12 from the free-throw line.
