Hold order lifted at Laurel Park

LAUREL, Md. (AP) - A hold order on a barn at Laurel Park was lifted Friday, allowing 34 horses that tested negative for the deadly equine herpes virus to return to normal activities, state agriculture officials announced.

The Hall of Fame trainer entered 11 horses for eight races Saturday at Gulfstream Park, including Great Point, his top Kentucky Derby prospect, in the $300,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes. Among others entered by Zito on Thursday included a couple of 3-year-olds owned by Yankees boss George Steinbrenner.
