Duke wins first distance medley relay

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - This fantastic finish between Duke and North Carolina had nothing to do with basketball. The Blue Devils completed a surprising worst-to-first finish in the women's distance medley relay Thursday, edging the Tar Heels by pulling away late for their first career win in the Penn Relays.

X Games to remain in L.A. through 2009

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The X Games have found a longtime home in Southern California. ESPN announced Wednesday that a five-year agreement was reached to keep the action sports competition in Los Angeles through 2009. The summer event was previously moved every two years in an effort to attract new fans.
