16-year-old Taylor wins women's title

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Keep an eye on Katy Taylor over the next four years. Competing in her first international event as a senior, the 16-year-old skated off with the Four Continents title Saturday. Her score of 164.05 points was enough to overcome Yukari Nakano and her attempt at a triple axel.
 
Column: Kudos on Michelle Kwan decision

LOS ANGELES (AP) - When it comes to figure skating, somebody's always got their sequins in a snit about something. There's the ever-popular debate about whether it's a sport or not, all those judging shenanigans and, of course, those horrific costumes. But sending Michelle Kwan to the Turin Olympics shouldn't even be a question. She deserves that spot, and she's earned it.
 
Kwan gets last shot at Olympic gold

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Michelle Kwan smiled, gave a small salute and then stepped onto the ice. After four years, her Olympic hopes had come to this. A session in her home rink, in front of judges who would decide whether she was healthy enough _ good enough _ to go to the Turin Olympics. The answer was a resounding yes.
