MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Venus Williams, playing her first tournament since October after recovering from a left wrist injury, advanced to the semifinals of the Memphis WTA Tour event Thursday night, beating Laura Granville 7-6 (2), 6-4.
 
Horna upsets Nalbandian at Copa Telmex

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - Unseeded Peruvian Luis Horna ousted Brazil Open winner Guillermo Canas from the Copa Telmex, advancing to the quarterfinals of the clay-court tournament with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory Thursday.
 
Davydenko, Youzhny advance at ABN Amro

Wimbledon to pay men and women equally

WIMBLEDON, England (AP) - Genteel and old-fashioned Wimbledon discarded one of its longest traditions _ unequal pay. The All England Club yielded to 21st century realities Thursday, agreeing to pay women the same as men and falling in line with the other Grand Slam tournaments.
