Agassi-Courier fail in doubles play

HOUSTON (AP) - Andre Agassi played doubles for the second time since 2001 and Jim Courier came out of retirement to join him, but South Americans Martin Garcia and Luis Horna beat the big-name duo in three sets Monday night at the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships.
 
Austria's Melzer wins clay court match

HOUSTON (AP) - Seventh-seeded Jurgen Melzer of Austria beat Mariano Puerta of Argentina 6-3, 6-3 Monday in a first-round match at the U.S. Clay Court Tennis Championships.
 
Johansson advances at Open Seat Godo

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) - Former Australian Open champion Thomas Johansson advanced to the second round of the Open Seat Godo on Monday, easily beating Stefan Koubek of Austria 6-2, 6-1.
