NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) - Vince Spadea overcame a slow start to beat Alexander Popp 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 Monday in the opening round of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.
 
Verdasco defeats Pospisil at Swiss Open

GSTAAD, Switzerland (AP) - Spain's Fernando Verdasco beat Czech qualifier Jaroslav Pospisil 6-2, 6-4 in the only match completed before rain suspended play on the first day of the Swiss Open on Monday.
 
Vinciguerra wins in comeback in Swedish

Federer wanted this one badly, which is why he played so well. With his typical mix of precision and power, the Swiss marvel drubbed Roddick 6-2, 7-6 (2), 6-4 in Sunday's final.
